What in the Hair Health?

First of all, did I really decide to start a blog? The way my journey continues to unfold is always mind blowing. Something in my spirit kept nudging me to write. Of course, I asked myself, “who me?” Lol. Well, if you don’t know already, I’m Ziggy. I have a detailed description about myself in my about me. When you get a chance, go check it out. Today’s topic will be about hair health.

What is hair health? In general, hair health refers to how someone's hair looks. However, the state of one's hair is a matter of opinion because there are various definitions of what is considered "natural", right? I've been doing hair for over 19 years, and I've realized that there will always be a debate between the two. A heat-trained, chemical-free natural's healthy hair should not have split ends, retain length, have smooth, frizz-free hair shafts, and maintain fullness. The concept of healthy hair for a chemical-free, no-heat natural is greatly influenced by the definition of their natural curl pattern. Although these facts help to create the healthy hair, we are familiar with, there is also a wider picture. The key elements that affect a person's hair health are extreme heat, an unhealthy diet, overusing the improper products, and excessive manipulation.

Now, why is hair health so important? It's crucial to take care of your hair because it frequently gives away interior health issues. One sign of a calcium shortage, for instance, is if a person has dry hair or hair that has an ashy film on it. A bad diet may also have the unwanted effect of making you very dry. According to dermatologist Karen Ansel, if you've been avoiding avocados and olive oil in an effort to lose weight, you could be hastening hair loss or damage. Ansel said to Self, "Fat is necessary for a healthy scalp." Lack of certain nutrients can cause your scalp to become dry and inflamed, which can result in hair loss. Stock up on salmon, walnuts, or flax oil the next time you go grocery shopping so you can reassess and get rid of the itch.

How frequently should I be consuming foods or using Ziggy Inspired products for my hair health? (you might ask yourself) The challenge of keeping good hair requires daily effort! Here are some pointers for keeping your hair healthy:

  1. To start your restoration process off right, you should be applying your Ziggy Inspired Oils (restoration or cure-all) on a daily basis. Use the Cure-All Collection once a week to remove dead skin cells, product buildup, and seborrheic dermatitis to help heal the scalp. Sunrise To restore the hair's natural curl patterns and lock in moisture, deep conditioner should be applied once per month (or as needed).

  2. It should be a part of everyone's daily habit to use silk pillowcases while sleeping or satin scarves at night to protect their hair.

  3. Even if it's only a fruit/vegetable smoothie to start the day, hair-enhancing foods should be consumed every day. Greek yogurt and eggs is great for growth.

Remember to stand in the authenticity of you! It does not matter if your hair is natural, permed, straight, curly or afro like.

Love yourself at every stage.
